Smitten by the sleek and striking Tiffany T series? We have good and bad news for you.
The good news is, Tiffany & Co. has once again mined inspiration from Manhattan’s streetscape for its new line, called HardWear. The bad news: This is design director Francesca Amfitheatrof’s swansong collection for the American fine jeweller.
HardWear departs from the brand’s typical feminine look with a sturdy, industrial styling and is aptly fronted by pop star and fashion chameleon Lady Gaga. Inspired by a unisex bracelet from 1971, Amfitheatrof has remixed three elements from the original design — the lock, the chain and the ball — and expanded the range to include rings, necklaces, pendants and earrings.
The ball is the star element of this collection. For instance, the fashion set has taken to the Triple Drop Earrings, which string three spheres together for a chic yet sexy statement piece. Then there is the versatile Ball Dangle Ring, which comes in three sizes and can be stacked together for an effect that is at once edgy and elegant.
All pieces come in sterling silver or 18K yellow or rose gold, and prices start from $255 for a sterling silver ring, up to $22,100 for wrap necklace in 18K yellow gold.
